Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system on the planet. It is composed of about 3,000 reef systems and almost 1,000 small islands stretched over the Coral Sea, just off the coast of Queensland, Australia. The huge reef can be seen from outer space and takes its spot as the largest marine structure made by living organisms. The Great Barrier Reef is home to many species of marine creatures, and has been added as a World Heritage Site, making it an important and protected area. After CNN labelled it one of the Seven Wonders of the World, it is no surprise that the Great Barrier Reef is such a popular tourist destination.

The Great Barrier Reef has much to offer, including diving, snorkelling and many sightseeing cruises.  The reef is one of Australia’s largest and famous tourist attraction, and is a must see on the Sunshine Coast.
